Meet Rebecca,
Our Dietary and Behavioral Wellness Coach
Rebecca Castellano obtained her degrees in Nutrition & Dietetics through Long Island University, CW Post. Disillusioned and somewhat frustrated with the “one size fits all approach” to nutrition and dieting, Rebecca has made it her mission to treat each person individually by first identifying the “why” or root cause of a problem or disease.
Rebecca sees each person as a “whole” – mind, body, and spirit – and believes the body has an incredible ability to heal itself given the right tools, resources, and knowledge. She believes empowering her clients to take control of their own health is of utmost importance using her 6 Pillars approach. Rebecca wants you to thrive and aims to be a source of hope, encouragement, and accountability, recognizing it is often small, consistent steps that eventually lead a person to a better state of health and healing.
Just like you, Rebecca has had challenges with weight loss, autoimmune disease, and mental health challenges. She has used her 26 years of education and nutrition therapy experience to overcome them all and she can't wait to share and inspire you to do the same.

Nutritional and Anthropometric Assessments
A nutrition assessment is the process of evaluating an individual's nutritional status to determine their nutrient intake, dietary patterns, and overall health status. The assessment can involve several components, including dietary, clinical, biochemical, and anthropometric assessments.
Anthropometric assessments, on the other hand, are a specific component of the nutrition assessment that involve measuring and evaluating physical characteristics of the body, such as height, weight, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, skinfold thickness, and body composition. Anthropometric measurements are used to assess body fat distribution, muscle mass, and overall health status.

Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)
MNT involves an individualized nutrition plan that is based on the patient's medical history, current health status, and dietary needs. The plan may include specific dietary modifications, such as changes in calorie, protein, carbohydrate, and fat intake, as well as recommendations for specific vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients.
MNT is used to manage a variety of medical conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorders, cancer, food allergies, and obesity, among others. It may be used alone or in combination with other medical treatments to improve health outcomes, manage symptoms, and prevent complications. MNT may also involve patient education, counseling, and ongoing support to ensure long-term success.
